SS 20 - Stage Flash - Francorchamps *PR
The final stage of the 2021 Renties Ypres Rally Belgium crowned home-hero Theirry Neuville as the popular winner.
The final stage, the 11.21 Francorchamps 2 also made the Powerstage so there was more points on offer.
Ott Tänak took the stage win for Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT and the five points that went with it with a time of 6:48.3.
Sébastien Ogier was able to take second on stage in the Toyota GAZOO Racing WRT entry, taking fifth overall.
In addition to the rally win, Neuville was able to take third on the Powerstage, 3.6 seconds off the fastest time.
Kalle Rovenperä took fourth on stage, 4.9 seconds off the best time and in doing so, took third place overall.
Elfyn Evans was fifth to take the final Powerstage point.
Craig Breen came home in sixth in a measured run to ensure he took second place overall and a 1-2 for Hyundai.
Gus Greensmith was seventh on stage while Pierre-Louis Loubet lost time to change a puncture.
In WRC2 Jari Huttunen won for Hyundai Motorsport N in front of Nikolay Gryzain who limped through the final stage but made it home.
In WRC3 it was Yohan Rossel in a Citroën C3 Rally2 who took the win in ahead of PJM Cracco in a Skoda Fabia Rally2 evo and Vincent Verschueren in a Volkswagen Polo GTi R5.

Car #21 J.Huttunen – M.Lukka (Hyundai i20 N Rally2): Power steering problem
“We had a small power steering leak. It was not an easy rally and it didn’t go how we wanted. I am sorry for Oliver (Solberg) but I am lucky to be here.”
Car #27 V.Verschueren Vincent – F.Cuvelier (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) “It is really nice. I didn’t expect it The Powerstage was very nice. I didn’t need to push anymore but there were so many people. It was a nice stage, a real mix. We made some good progress and really happy to be here.”
Car #39 PJM Cracco – J.Vermeulen (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo): “It is very, very special. I really wish my father was here, he passed away last year. He was a big rally fan/ It is very, very cool this moment.”

Car #44 G.Greensmith – C.Patterson (Ford Fiesta WRC): "It wasn't a good weekend for sure. My mistake this time. It was hard to find a rhythm after that, just not really being quite where I wanted to be. The car's in one piece, and we managed to learn the conditions which is nice."
Car #8 O.Tänak – M.Järveoja (Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC): “It was quite complicated. It was a tough.”
Car #1 S.Ogier – J.Ingrassia (Toyota Yaris WRC): "I don't know if it's work that we need to plan. For sure, we have been quite unlucky with the conditions of the roads and I didn't expect it to be so tough.
"The set-up was not the best at the start of the rally, but we came away from here with some more points which is good."
Car #33 E.Evans – S.Martin (Toyota Yaris WRC): "Pretty disappointed of course. It was a big battle all the way through. I was trying but couldn’t deliver the times today. I have to look at why I dropped time today. Not ideal.”
Car #69 K.Rovenperä – J.Halttunen (Toyota Yaris WRC) : “To be honest I am feeling really good. We could clearly see this weekend that there are two guys that have done the rally before and they are really fast. It is good to be the best of the guys to do the rally for the first time. Thanks to the team.”
